Taken by magic and thrust into danger
Berra walked on finding solace in seeking
Looking for weakness that Onjur left open
Looking for things to distract the Red Witch-Queen
What Really Happened
Berra woke to find herself as Berra, but in hell. She could see the spirits around her, but she was devoid of a god – she was neither Humakt nor Yanafal Tarnils. She determined to be herself, and to go on thinking as Berra, to to try to break the Heroquest.
She heard drums, and walked towards them, and was attacked by Wakboth. Fortunately, she was not unarmed, and so she struck down the troll who fought her, and carried on, past the drums as she saw light ahead. She found a red-headed golden man, tied to a great stone. After some consideration, deciding to release as much of Jar-eel’s power as possible1She had not realised at this point that Nysalor was probably Jar-eel. while doing what was not wanted, she sacrificed Nysalor to Kallyr. She then turned back towards the drums and found that the part of Arachne Solara was occupied, but not exactly played, by Cragspider. They talked for a bit, and Berra pulled herself together, and offered the wolf-tooth around her neck, and was given a crop stone by the Firewitch. She also found out that she had ‘released Nyaslor from the cycle of suffering’, but she could do little about that. Cragspider said that as they had shared food, she would not eat Berra the next time they met. Berra promised the same.
Berra walked on, finding that Nysalor’s body was now gone, and hitched a lift on the sky bear. There was no Wakboth to stop her, and so she ended up walking out of Hell.
