Dearest Venlar,

In case you hadn’t heard, we succeeded in bringing home Kallyr and the Flame of Sartar. It took the Lightbringers’ Quest to do it, though. I found the latter parts very painful. I have a wound which will not heal magically. I wonder sometimes if it will ever heal at all. We may need to be careful of my back.

I wish you were here. I wish I was there. It might be safer. I dread what Kallyr will do to bind us to her this time. The last time we rescued her, we all got land. I think I will just ask her blessing on our marriage. I worry that we would be wed in the greatest of haste and state if I do that.

I have no idea what Kallyr is going to do about Leika. Your father is a wise man. Surely he will see that more clearly than I. Life will be interesting very soon.
