From the office of the Wyter Priest, the hand of the Wyter,
To our good friend Lord Kesten, in all amity,
It is my duty to pass to you news of, and from, Lady Berra. Recent events have caused her to be banished from the lands of Kallyr, Starbrow and King. There is no limit on time.
Her property is not forfeit, and should you arrive to her absence, Thane Varaena or her representatives will be pleased to host you. The Thane’s projected absence during Earth Season will not change any plans, we are certain; by the start of Dark, we expect her to have returned to Boldhome.
Lady Berra intends to pass through Prax to speak to another prospective member of the Hero band, perhaps also putting the question to others as she returns. If her stay in Prax is protracted, as it may well be, she bids me extend to you greetings and proffer apologies. She has still not, alas, learned the advantages to be found in not annoying Queens.
[Truth/Death sign.]
On a personal note, you need not fear for her. She gave funeral rites to the Wolf Captain Gunda, in despite of Kallyr’s displeasure. She believes in her actions, on which of course I cannot comment here.
It is possible that Gunda’s death and its various sequelae will expose your bodyguard and his troop, but they are currently doing well in early harvests, and proving themselves popular by ordeal and hard work. Lady Berra has encouraged them to take up residence on farms rather than strain the resources of the city, on my suggestion.
You do recall that they brought their own food?
“Yeah, but how else do we say it?”
Lady Berra has pointed out there is a high chance a god-killing psychopath will pass through Wilmskirk, eviscerate everyone in his way, and not even notice the pause?
“Dare ya.”
No.
