They never made old bones,
the children of the House.
Pink in the sun, decorated by ravens,
Honest smiles at last revealed
Fixed in rictus
Without the subtle lies of lips
The last ascends his ambition
On a stair built of old smiles
and young bones
— Unnamed poem, ascribed to Torograi Birdcharmer1Berra Player, c1630. It is variously thought to refer to the Household of Death and High Sword Eril, or the line of Sartar and Great Khan Argrath. The sage Llewun notes that the Household of Death was the line of Sartar, opining that the poem gains from the duality of meaning.
